Deepti Sharma Talks About India’s Tight Escape In The Second T20I (IND-W vs. BAN-W)

Tuesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, India Women won the three-match T20I series 2-0 thanks in large part to Deepti Sharma’s bowling performance.

In a low-scoring match, Deepti’s stats of 3-12 from her 4 overs properly won her the Player of the Match title.

India decided to bat first, however their batsmen could only manage to score 95-8 runs, with Sultana Khatun of the opposition’s bowling staff causing the most of the damage with 3-21.

Regarding her individual performance, Deepti said that the strategy was to just bowl as needed. India was able to hold on to the total, winning by 8 runs and taking the series 2-0.

The spinners benefited from this kind of track, which I really liked. My strategy consisted of just bowling more dot balls and adapting to the scenario. We instructed everyone to remain calm and consider our procedure. Every action we do must be confident. As a team, we played well, and I want to perform well everytime I have the chance to bat,” Deepti remarked at the post-game ceremony.

Bangladesh faced Shafali Verma in the last over, needing 10 runs to win. Verma only allowed one run while striking out four hitters, including one via run-out.

Prior to then, though, Deepti and Minnu Mani controlled Bangladesh with methodical bowling. The lone hitter who seemed to have the potential to win the match for India was Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana, who made 55 off of Deepti’s bowling before being caught by Yastika Bhatia.

India Women will need to evaluate their batting going into the third game on Thursday, since it was disappointing and almost lost them the match.
