The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) includes RAPIDX, India’s first regional rail service. The length of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor as a whole is around 82 km, of which 68 km are in Uttar Pradesh and the remaining 70 km are in Delhi. The RRTS route’s trains are anticipated to travel at a maximum speed of 160 kmph, according to reports. Operations on a 17-kilometer circuit began in July 2023. Including Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot, this contains five stations. According to current sources, work on the bridge connecting the RAPIDX corridor’s Duhai and Meerut South stations has been finished.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-138741″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon-750×500.png” alt=”theindiaprint.com first post covid international commercial flight abruptly canceled by north korea for unknown reasons rrts 11zon” width=”1481″ height=”987″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon-750×500.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon-1024×683.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon-768×512.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon-150×100.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/theindiaprint.com-first-post-covid-international-commercial-flight-abruptly-canceled-by-north-korea-for-unknown-reasons-rrts-11zon.png 1125w” sizes=”(max-width: 1481px) 100vw, 1481px” title=”Completed Duhai to Meerut South Viaduct as RTS Construction Advances 15″>

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) authorities estimate that the distance between the eastern periphery freeway in Duhai and Meerut South is close to 25 kilometers. There are around 750 pillars put in the viaduct. Soon, the authorities will conduct a test drive.

Empty trains have begun running on the 17-kilometer line that was built earlier to make sure there are no technical issues once the route is open to the public.

The remainder of the segment from Duhai to Meerut South is now being installed with overhead equipment (OHE) and track-laying operations have begun. According to an NCRTC spokesman, track laying has been finished for 30 km of the route’s entire 50 km of this stretch. On this route, there will be about four stations: Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South.

Construction on the remaining 14 km of the Delhi route, which includes the stations Anand Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, and Jangpura, is anticipated to begin in 2025, a year before the complete corridor is inaugurated.

According to rumors, the RAPIDX stations would have a peacock-inspired design and color scheme of blue and beige.
