When it was released on March 15, the Sidharth Malhotra film received mediocre reviews and a blah beginning. The movie, which was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and helmed by Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, brought in Rs 4.25 crore on its first day of release, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. On Monday, however, the movie saw a sharp decline and took in less than it had on opening day. Bastar: The Naxal Story only managed to raise Rs 24 lakhs the next day, raising the total to Rs 2.24 crore. Bastar made almost 17 lakhs India net on day six. The directors had anticipated for a similar kind of success to “The Kerala Story,” thus they are disappointed with this result.
