Under the leadership of seasoned opener Shikhar Dhawan, Punjab Kings, the 2014 runners-up, will try to launch a championship threat. In the previous series, the Mohali-based franchise had placed seventh. In its most recent endeavor, the team won six of fourteen games. In 16 IPL seasons, this was Punjab Kings’ 14th missed opportunity to make the playoffs.

Eight players were signed by Punjab Kings in the most recent mini-auction: Ashutosh Sharma, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Shashank Singh, Tanay Thyagarajann, Prince Choudhary, Rilee Rossouw, Chris Woakes, and Harshal Patel (Rs 11.75 crore), all for Rs 20 lakh apiece.

The Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will aim to go above their ninth-place result from the previous season (five victories and nine losses), as captain Pant is expected to return. Pant, who made it through an accident, will have a lot of responsibilities. While Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, two of the team’s best spinners, will lead the bowling attack, the squad will also be hoping for some magic from openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw.

Shuttle service for buses

For the match on March 23, Punjab Kings have stated that they would begin offering a paid shuttle service (bus and taxi) from various locations across the city to the Mullanpur stadium. “On the days of the IPL matches, there will be a bus shuttle service from various pick-up and drop-off points in Mohali, Zirakpur, Chandigarh, and Panchkula,” the Punjab Kings management said in a statement.
