Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs Attend MSME TEAM Initiative Workshop in Trivandrum

TRIVANDRUM: Entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Kerala came together in Trivandrum to participate in an awareness workshop on the MSME TEAM Initiative, jointly organized by the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) Kerala and the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Cochin Branch. The workshop was held on 24 May 2026 at Hotel Hyatt and focused on helping micro, small, and medium enterprises understand the benefits of government support and modern business practices.

The event served as a platform where entrepreneurs could interact directly with government officials and industry experts. The workshop aimed to provide practical information that would help business owners improve their operations, adopt digital technologies, and make better use of government schemes designed for MSMEs.

The inaugural session was attended by Smt. Jeeva, IFS, who served as the Chief Guest. While addressing the audience, she spoke about the growing importance of entrepreneurship in India’s economy. She encouraged business owners to continue learning, embrace innovation, and use every available opportunity to strengthen their businesses. She also appreciated SICCI Kerala and NSIC for organizing a program that supports the growth of the MSME sector.

Sh. Premraj, Additional Director of the Directorate of Industries, Government of Kerala, also addressed the participants. He explained that the government has introduced several initiatives to help small businesses become stronger and more competitive. He encouraged entrepreneurs to stay connected with government departments so they can benefit from financial assistance, training programs, and technology support.

Dr. Thomas Nechupadam, Chair of SICCI Kerala, welcomed the participants and highlighted the chamber’s continuous efforts to promote entrepreneurship in the state. He said that the success of MSMEs is closely linked to the economic development of Kerala. He also emphasized the need for collaboration between industry bodies, government institutions, and business owners to build a stronger and more competitive business environment.

Experts from NSIC conducted informative sessions throughout the workshop. They explained the objectives of the MSME TEAM Initiative and discussed several government schemes available for business development. The experts also shared practical guidance on technology adoption, digital business solutions, productivity improvement, and skill development. Their presentations helped participants understand how government support can be used to improve business performance.

The workshop also created opportunities for business networking. During the B2B and B2C presentation sessions, entrepreneurs introduced their companies, products, and services to other participants. These interactions encouraged new business relationships and opened the door for future partnerships.

A lively interactive session followed, where participants asked questions about business registration, funding opportunities, digital transformation, and government schemes. The experts responded with simple and practical answers, making the session useful for both new and experienced entrepreneurs.

The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sh. Rajesh Nair, representing SICCI Kerala. He thanked the Chief Guest, government officials, NSIC experts, speakers, participants, and the organizing committee for their valuable support. He said that the enthusiastic participation of everyone contributed to the success of the event.

The awareness workshop successfully brought together government representatives, business leaders, and entrepreneurs on a single platform. By sharing knowledge, encouraging discussions, and promoting collaboration, the event helped participants gain a better understanding of the MSME TEAM Initiative and inspired them to take advantage of the opportunities available for the growth and development of their businesses.
