Tennis: Uzbekistan’s Khumoyun Sultanov, the top seed, in the preliminary round

<p>In the current M15 Chandigarh ITF World Tour Tennis Men’s (US$ 15K prize money) Tournament, top seed Khumoyun Sultanov of Uzbekistan defeated Indian opponent Manish Surshkumar 6-2 6-3 to proceed to the men’s pre-quarterfinals.</p>

<p>Ramkumar Ramanathan, the second seed, advanced farther as well, defeating Manish Ganesh 6-3 6-2. Siddharth Vishwakarma comfortably upset Shivank Bhatnagar 6-2 6-0, while Hitesh Chauhan battled valiantly to overcome Shanker Heisnam 6-2 3-6 7-5.</p>
<p>While Nitin Kumar Sinha beat Siddhant Banthia 6-4 6-3, Thanapet Chanta of Thailand defeated Rohan Mehra 6-2 6-4. Vietnam’s Nam Hoang Ly defeated Thailand’s Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul 7-5 3-6 6-3, while Chirag Duhan defeated Raghav Jaisinghani 6-0 6-2.</p>
<p>Yunseok Jang and Woobin Shin beat Shanker Heisnam and Ajay Kundu in the opening round of the men’s doubles. Oges Theyio Jaya Prakash and Neeraj Yashpaul were defeated by the pair of Chirag Duhan and Yuichiro Inui 3-6 6-3 (10-7).</p>
